Malus domestica 'Buckeye Gala' is commonly referred to as Buckeye® Gala Apple Tree. It is a fast growing apple tree that produces early high yields of full, mild, sweet and juicy medium red apples with deep red stripes. Buckeye Gala is popular for fresh eating, salads and cooking. Early spring flowers attract bees and other beneficial pollinators and its green foliage turns bright yellow in fall. It requires a pollinator such as Honeycrisp or Fuji for harvesting fruit.
Buckeye Gala thrives in full sun in average to loamy, rich soils that are evenly moist, well-drained soils. All apple trees benefit from air movement around the tree and through its branches.

Maintenance is uniform across most edible cultivars: Prune in late winter or early spring while the tree is dormant to improve air circulation, control shape, and encourage productive growth. Apply a layer of organic mulch around the root zone to conserve moisture and suppress weeds, keeping the material pulled back from the trunk to prevent decay.
