TILIA TOM SATIN SHADOW
Grower Notes:
Tilia tomentosa Satin Shadow® ('Sashazam') is an exceptional cultivar of the Silver Linden, highly prized for its refined, broad-pyramidal form and fragrant flowers in early summer. Throughout the summer, its heart-shaped leaves are dark green on top, contrasted by a dense, velvety layer of bright silver-white hairs on the underside. In early summer, Satin Shadow® is adorned with clusters of fragrant, buttery-yellow flowers that are a major attraction for bees. As a large deciduous shade tree, typically reaching 50-60 feet tall with a spread of around 40 feet, Satin Shadow® is an excellent choice for a stately lawn specimen, park planting, or a highly ornamental street tree.
Satin Shadow® Silver Linden is celebrated for its excellent urban tolerance and resilience. It is highly adaptable, thriving in full sun and a wide range of soil types, and exhibits good resistance to both heat and drought once established. The combination of ornamental beauty, low-maintenance care, and durability ensures that Tilia tomentosa Satin Shadow® is a magnificent and reliable investment for long-term success.
