The Autumn Splendor Horse Chestnut is a medium sized, hardy tree with a dense, rounded crown. Yellow-red 6 inch panicle spikes are borne at the ends of the branches of glossy, dark green leaves. It is resistant to leaf scorch and develops a maroon-red fall color.
It thrives in full sun to part shade and prefers a deep, moist, well-drained soil. This is a hybrid from the native Aesculus glabra x A. (flava x pavia).
