Zone: 5GOLDENRAIN TREE
Koelreuteria paniculata is commonly known as the Golden Rain Tree. It is a small, open, deciduous tree with a rounded crown. It features feathery, compound leaves that emerge pinkish bronze in spring and matures to green in summer before turning yellow in fall. Bright yellow panicle flowers appear in early summer. As the yellow blooms fall they resemble 'golden rain', thus the plant name. Unique seed pods resemble Chinese lanterns. The Golden Rain Tree thrives in full sun and moist, light, well-drained soils.

To help this plant settle in and thrive, we recommend these standard planting practices: Plant in well-draining soil with a slightly acidic pH. Water regularly, but avoid overwatering. Mulch around the base to retain moisture and suppress weeds. Fertilize annually with a balanced, slow-release fertilizer. Prune in late winter or early spring to maintain shape and promote healthy growth.
