The Royal Raindrops® crabapple is one of the best purple-leafed crabapples out there! It has an upright, spreading habit with strong branch angles that develop a balanced canopy. It features masses of fragrant, magenta flowers in mid spring and glossy, deep purple foliage that maintains its rich color through summer and then ages to bronze, orange and purple in fall.
The Royal Raindrops® crabapple enjoys full sun in rich, moist, well-drained soils. This easy to grow, disease resistant crabapple is an excellent choice for specimen or street planting and for general landscape use.
