Zone: 6CELESTIAL NIGHT™ FLORIBUNDA ROSE
'Peace' rose is perhaps the most famous Hybrid Tea in history, a masterpiece from the Meilland family that was introduced at the close of World War II. It is celebrated for its massive, high-centered blooms that can reach up to 6 inches in diameter, featuring a luminous primrose-yellow color that is delicately edged in soft pink. These colors shift and deepen as the flower matures, creating a sunset-like effect against its exceptionally glossy, leathery, dark green foliage. While it is primarily grown for its sheer beauty and historical significance, it also possesses a mild, fruity fragrance that adds a sweet, subtle layer to its regal presence.
To see 'Peace' Rose reach its full potential, it requires a prime, full-sun location with at least six to eight hours of direct light to ensure those heavy blooms have strong enough stems to support them. It thrives in rich, organic-heavy, well-drained soil and, like many older Hybrid Teas, it appreciates a consistent feeding schedule and good air circulation to keep its foliage healthy. In the landscape, it works beautifully as a standalone specimen or as the anchor of a formal rose garden where its large scale can be truly appreciated.

To help this plant settle in and thrive, we recommend these standard planting practices: Plant in a location with at least 6-8 hours of direct sunlight. Ensure soil is rich, well-draining, and amended with organic matter. Water at the base (avoid getting leaves wet) to prevent fungal diseases. Pruning: Prune in early spring, just as the buds begin to swell (but before leaves emerge). Remove all dead, damaged, or diseased wood, then trim healthy stems back to an outward-facing bud to open up the center of the plant for air circulation.
