TRUDWARF® WHITE BUD MUGO PINE

Pinus mugo 'White Bud' is commonly referred to as White Bud Mugo Pine or White Bud Swiss Mountain Pine. This dwarf evergreen shrub is part of the TRUdwarf® collection and is noteworthy for its bud's white resinous coating in winter that produces a dramatic frosty effect against its dark green winter coat. During the rest of the year, White Bud maintains its small stature without candle pruning.

White Bud Mugo Pine thrives in full sun in average, evenly moist, well-drained soils. It will not tolerate standing water. It can be drought tolerant once established. It can also tolerate urban conditions and will do well in city environments. It is ideal for mass plantings, hedges, screenings and as an accent plant.

Planting Tips

To help this plant settle in and thrive, we recommend these standard planting practices: Plant in well-draining soil with a slightly acidic pH. Water regularly, but avoid overwatering. Mulch around the base to retain moisture and suppress weeds. Prune in the spring to maintain shape and promote healthy growth.
