Zone: 3JUNIOR DREAM® GARDEN PHLOX
Phlox paniculata Junior Dream® is a standout selection from the Junior® series, specifically bred for its compact, well-branched habit and vibrant color. This mid-sized garden phlox produces large, dense clusters of rich, grape-purple flowers that emit a sweet, classic fragrance from mid-to-late summer. Reaching a manageable height of 24 to 30 inches, it offers a sturdy, upright form that rarely requires staking, making it an excellent choice for adding vertical interest to smaller garden spaces or as a colorful filler in the middle of a perennial border.
To keep Junior® Dream thriving, it should be situated in a spot that receives full sun to very light dappled shade, as ample light ensures the most prolific blooming and maintains the intensity of its purple hues. It prefers rich, organic soil that is well-drained but stays consistently moist; applying a layer of mulch will help conserve moisture and keep the root system cool during the heat of July and August. It is noted for its improved resistance to powdery mildew, but providing adequate spacing for air circulation will further ensure the deep green foliage remains healthy and vibrant throughout the growing season.
