Phlox paniculata Cotton Candy™ is a pretty garden phlox from the Sweet Summer® series, celebrated for its sweet, pastel colors and outstanding disease resistance. Producing large, dense flowers from mid-to-late summer, each soft pink bloom features a distinctly darker, contrasting magenta-rose eye that provides exceptional visual depth. Growing to a tidy, manageable height and spread of 18 to 24 inches, Cotton Candy™ features strong, dark green foliage and sturdy, self-supporting stems that won't flop under the weight of its fragrant blooms. Its sweet floral scent attracts hummingbirds, and butterflies, making it a focal point for mid-border plantings, perennial beds, and cutting gardens.
Phlox Cotton Candy™ requires full sun to light dappled shade, needing at least six hours of direct sun daily to maximize bloom quantity. It enjoys rich, moist, well-drained soil with a neutral to slightly acidic pH and appreciates a consistent moisture level, especially during hot summer stretches. Once established, Cotton Candy™ exhibits excellent natural resistance to powdery mildew, though providing good spacing and avoiding wet foliage will keep the plant looking beautiful and healthy all season long.
