EMERALD CITY® TULIP TREE

Emerald City® Tulip Tree is a fast-growing, upright tree with a very uniform, straight habit and a dominant central leader. It is a more refined cultivar of the native Tulip Tree, and makes the perfect tree for inner city environments such as near sidewalks or tight spaces where the native Tulip Tree would never fit. It features deeper, dark green foliage that turns a brilliant yellow in fall. Really unique greenish-yellow tulip-shaped flowers with orange centers in spring.

The Emerald City® Tulip Tree enjoys full sun in rich, moist, well-drained soils. This is a remarkable specimen for the landscape.

Planting Tips

To help this plant settle in and thrive, we recommend these standard planting practices: Plant in well-draining soil with a slightly acidic pH, and ensure the soil is rich in organic matter. Water regularly, but avoid overwatering, which can lead to root rot. Mulch around the base to retain moisture and suppress weeds, and consider adding a layer of color with annuals or perennials.
