Zone: 3OERTELS ROSE YARROW
Achillea millefolium 'Oertel's Rose' is commonly referred to as Oertel's Rose Yarrow. It is an easy to grow perennial that features rose-pink flower clusters that age from pink to white from early to late summer over attractive fern-like green foliage. Flowers bring in the bees, butterflies and other beneficial pollinators to the garden. It is heat, humidity and drought tolerant and deer and rabbit resistant.
Oertel's Rose Yarrow thrives in full sun in average, dry to medium moisture, well-drained soils. It does best in full sun, but can tolerate less. Fun Fact: Yarrow was named after Achilles, Hero of the Trojan Wars in Greek Mythology, who used the plant to heal wounded solders. Yarrow gave the Achilles his invincibility powers. How about that - not just a pretty flower!
