TRUE BLUE JOHNNY JUMP UP

Viola 'True Blue' is highly regarded for its rare, clear azure color that lacks the heavy purple or lavender undertones often found in other blue toned varieties. 'True Blue' produce solid, sky-blue petals with a small, bright yellow center, creating a clean and refreshing look in the garden. Because the color is so pure, they are exceptionally effective when planted in large drifts to mimic the appearance of a reflecting pool or when paired with bright yellow pansies for a classic, high-contrast spring combination.

For the best results, place Viola 'True Blue' in a location that receives full sun to partial shade. They perform best in cool, organic-rich soil that drains well but stays consistently moist. Because light blue pigments can sometimes fade under intense light, providing a bit of afternoon shade can help preserve the depth of the blue hue as the days get longer and warmer. Regular deadheading and a light application of fertilizer will keep the plants vigorous, ensuring a steady carpet of clear blue flowers throughout the cooler months of the growing season.
