Zone: 5PICOLA JAPANESE UMBRELLA PINE
The Sciadopitys verticillata 'Picola' is commonly referred to as Picola Umbrella Pine. It is a rare, dense and very compact version of the Umbrella Pine. This slow-growing evergreen conifer has a squat, bushy, pyramidal habit that becomes broadly upright with age. Its dark green needles are shorter than the species and arranged in whorls.
The slow-growing Umbrella Pine enjoys moist, rich, acidic, well-drained soils in full to partial sun. It is ideal for patio gardens.
