Zone: 10ARMOR™ MIX COCKSCOMB
Celosia Armor™ Mix is a showstopping, high-performance annual that brings an intriguing texture and a vivid, jewel-toned color palette to sunny garden spaces. Part of the acclaimed Armor™ series, this premium cockscomb (Celosia cristata) assortment is famous for its massive, velvety flower heads that twist and fold into dense, brain-like crests. The mix features a striking combination of intense shades, including deep crimson-red, glowing orange, vibrant fuchsia-pink, and bright yellow. These heavy, exotic blooms sit proudly atop sturdy, thick stems clad in clean, broad green leaves, forming a exceptionally uniform, compact mound that reaches 12 to 14 inches tall and spreads 12 to 14 inches wide.
To support its intense flower development and keep the unique crests pristine, this heat-loving annual requires a location in full sun. Its compact, weather-resistant habit makes it an outstanding choice for mid-border bed plantings, high-impact mass edgings, or as a structural, conversation-starting "thriller" in mixed patio containers and window boxes. The unique, long-lasting blooms are also highly prized for fresh or dried floral arrangements, holding their brilliant color long after cutting.

To help this plant settle in and thrive, we recommend these standard planting practices: Celosia Armor™ Mix performs best in moderately fertile, light, and sharply well-drained soil, as its stems and roots can be susceptible to rot in waterlogged conditions. Water consistently when the top inch of soil feels dry, taking care to water at the base of the plant to keep the heavy flower heads dry. Apply a balanced liquid fertilizer every two to three weeks to sustain its heavy summer blooming cycle until the first autumn frost.
