Zone: 4DWARF COLUMNAR EUROPEAN HORNBEAM
Carpinus betulus 'Columnaris Nana' is commonly referred to as Dwarf European Hornbean. This slow-growing, deciduous tree has a dwarf, narrow, dense habit. In time it can become twice as tall as wide. It features glossy, dark green foliage in summer that turns golden yellow in fall.
Dwarf Columnar Hornbean is resistant to verticillium wilt and is a unique dwarf hedge that requires very little pruning. It thrives in full to partial sun in rich, evenly moist, well-drained soils. It can easily be integrated into rock gardens.
