PACIFIC RIM® FIRST FLAME® KOREAN MAPLE

Acer pseudosieboldianum First Flame® ('IsIFirFL') is commonly referred to as First Flame Maple. This Iseli® Introduction is part of the Pacific Rim® series and is an interspecific hybrid - a Japanese and Korean Maple hybrid that features showy emerging red and orange spring, small, star-shaped leaves that fade to green in the summer months. Foliage turns a showy wine red in fall.

First Flame® Korean Hybrid Maple is a narrow tree thrives in full to partial sun in rich, fertile, evenly moist soils. It should not be allowed to dry out. It will benefit from a relatively sheltered location to protect it from strong winter winds.

Planting Tips

To help this plant settle in and thrive, we recommend these standard planting practices: Plant in a location with full sun to partial shade, and well-draining acidic soil. Water regularly, but avoid overwatering. Mulch around the base to retain moisture and suppress weeds. Prune in late winter or early spring to maintain shape and promote healthy growth.
