REDWING® CRANBERRYBUSH

Viburnum trilobum 'JN Select' is commonly referred to as Redwing® American Cranberrybush or Highbush Cranberry Redwing®. This very special Viburnum has four seasons of interest! It has a dense, compact habit with attractive lacy, white flowers and red-tipped leaves. Flowers are adored by bees, butterflies and other beneficial pollinators. Late summer brings bright red fruit that persists through fall and early winter. Birds and other wildlife enjoy the meal that is provided. Maple-like dark green leaves turn a showy red in fall.

Redwing American Cranberrybush is a fast grower and thrives in full to part sun in average, evenly moist, well-drained soils. It should not be allowed to dry out. It is ideal as an accent plant or as a hedge or screen.

Planting Tips

To help this plant settle in and thrive, we recommend these standard planting practices: Plant in well-draining soil with a slightly acidic pH, and ensure it receives full sun to partial shade. Water regularly, but avoid overwatering, which can lead to root rot. Fertilize with a balanced fertilizer in the spring and summer months. Prune in the late winter or early spring to maintain shape and promote new growth.
