SNOWDANCE™ JAPANESE TREE LILAC

Syringa reticulata 'Bailnce' PP20458 is commonly referred to as Snowdance Japanese Tree Lilac. Snowdance features a graceful, spreading habit. It is an exceptional bloomer, beginning at a young age, and producing large panicles of fragrant, creamy-white flowers in early summer. This sterile form does not produce unsightly seed pods. Lush, dark green foliage remains attractive through summer and its reddish-brown exfoliating bark adds interest during colder months.

Snowdance Japanese Tree Lilac thrives in full sun in rich, slightly acidic, evenly moist, well-drained soils. It is ideal for foundation plantings or as a specimen.

Planting Tips

To help this plant settle in and thrive, we recommend these standard planting practices: plant in a location with full sun and well-draining soil, ensuring it has plenty of space to reach its mature size as this is a tree-form lilac. It is highly adaptable and hardy but performs best when given consistent moisture during its initial establishment period. Apply a balanced, slow-release fertilizer in early spring to support its heavy, late-season white blooms. Because this species flowers on old wood, do not prune in late winter or early spring to preserve the floral display; perform any necessary structural shaping immediately after the flowers fade in early summer.
