SARGENT CRABAPPLE
The Sargent Crabapple is a natural dwarf, compact crabapple with a dense, spreading, horizontally-branched, multi-stemmed habit. It is one of the smallest crabapples with a height of around 7-8 feet and a spread of around 10 feet. Pink buds open to fragrant white flowers followed by small, red fruit in the fall and persist into winter and enjoyed by birds and other wildlife. Ovate, lobed, dark green leaves turn yellow in fall.
The Sargent Crabapple enjoys full sun in rich, moist, well-drained soils. The Sargent is an ideal tree for those spots such as under utility lines or tight spaces.
