EMERALD SPIRE® CRABAPPLE
The Emerald Spire® flowering crabapple is a small, ornamental crabapple with dense branching and a columnar habit. It reached 20 feet tall at maturity with only a 6 foot spread. It features early flowering with fragrant, fuchsia and white blooms in mid spring which emerge from red flower buds before its green foliage. Followed by flowers are small, reddish orange fruit that persist into winter. Narrow green leaves mature to gold and bronze in fall.
Emerald Spire® Crabapple enjoys full sun and rich, moist, well-drained soils. It is tolerant of urban pollution and will thrive in city environments.
