EMERALD SPIRE® CRABAPPLE

The Emerald Spire® flowering crabapple is a small, ornamental crabapple with dense branching and a columnar habit. It reached 20 feet tall at maturity with only a 6 foot spread. It features early flowering with fragrant, fuchsia and white blooms in mid spring which emerge from red flower buds before its green foliage. Followed by flowers are small, reddish orange fruit that persist into winter. Narrow green leaves mature to gold and bronze in fall.

Emerald Spire® Crabapple enjoys full sun and rich, moist, well-drained soils. It is tolerant of urban pollution and will thrive in city environments.

Planting Tips

To help this plant settle in and thrive, we recommend these standard planting practices: Plant in a location with full sun and well-draining soil. Water regularly, but avoid overwatering. Mulch around the base to retain moisture and suppress weeds. Prune in late winter or early spring to maintain shape and promote healthy growth.
