Sedum spectabile 'Neon' is an electrifying upright stonecrop that brings an intense, high-visibility pop of color to the late-summer garden. It is prized for its tidy, mounded habit and thick, succulent foliage in a cool shade of light gray-green. Reaching a sturdy height of 24 to 30 inches, it is topped in late summer with massive, flattened flower clusters in a brilliant, glowing magenta-pink. The color is significantly more vibrant than the muted tones of traditional upright varieties, making it a standout focal point that acts as a powerful magnet for butterflies and bees.
For the most prolific blooming and the strongest, most upright stems, plant Sedum 'Neon' in a location that receives full sun. It is a rugged and exceptionally drought-tolerant perennial that thrives in average to poor, well-drained soil; avoiding overly fertile soil is key to maintaining its compact form and preventing the stems from becoming too heavy.
