SENSATION® ROSE MEADOW SAGE
Salvia nemorosa Sensation® Rose is a high-performance perennial favored for its extremely tidy, compact growth habit and soft, rose-pink flower spikes. As part of the popular Sensation® series, it typically reaches a mature height of only 12 - 15 inches, making it a perfect fit for smaller garden spaces, rock gardens, or as a uniform edging plant along sunny walkways. The delicate pink blooms stand in lovely contrast to the dense, green foliage, providing a refined and romantic aesthetic from late spring through early summer. Its dwarf stature does not limit its ecological value, as it remains a highly attractive landing pad for bees, butterflies, and other essential pollinators.
To ensure Sensation® Rose thrives and maintains its rounded form, it should be planted in a location that receives full sun and has well-drained soil. It is notably heat-tolerant and stands up well to the humidity of mid-summer, though providing consistent moisture during its first growing season will help it establish a strong, deep root system. To encourage a second flush of rose-colored spikes in late summer, it is best to shear the spent flower stems back to the basal foliage once the initial bloom begins to fade. In early spring, simply remove any old, weathered stems to allow the fresh, new green growth to emerge.
