IRISH BELL BOSNIAN PINE

Pinus heldreichii (leucodermis) 'Irish Bell' is commonly referred to as the Irish Bell Bosnian Pine. This is an Iseli introduction that has a broadly pyramidal form that stays compact, growing only 3-6 inches pre year. In time the Irish Bell does widen into its classic bell shape, thus its name. Its needles are straight and green with glistening white fascicles which light up the tree.

The Irish Bell Bosnian Pine is ideal for urban and suburban gardens as it adapts to city environments well. It enjoys full sun in well-drained soils.

Planting Tips

To help this plant settle in and thrive, we recommend these standard planting practices: Plant in well-draining soil with a slightly acidic pH. Water regularly, but avoid overwatering. Mulch around the base to retain moisture and suppress weeds. Fertilize annually with a balanced, slow-release fertilizer. Prune in late winter or early spring to maintain shape and promote healthy growth.
