SPRING BLING™ RUBY RIOT CREEPING PHLOX

Phlox subulata 'Ruby Riot' is a premium hybrid and a key member of the Spring Bling® series. This series is specifically bred for a more refined, mounded habit and significantly larger flowers than standard creeping phlox. In early spring, 'Ruby Riot' erupts in a massive display of reddish-pink blossoms, each featuring a darker, ruby-red eye. The flowers are so prolific they often completely obscure the foliage, creating a solid carpet of color. Its habit is more "cushion-like" than sprawling, making it ideal for high-visibility areas in the landscape where a tidy appearance is necessary.

The ideal spot for Phlox 'Ruby Riot' is in full sun with excellent drainage, particularly in gravelly or sandy soils where it can avoid "wet feet." In terms of care, it is notably salt-tolerant and drought-resistant once established. For the best long-term health, shear the plant back by about 50 percent immediately after the spring bloom. This encourages the dark green foliage to stay dense and prevents the "dead center" look common in older phlox varieties.
