GATSBY MOON® OAKLEAF HYDRANGEA

Gatsby Moon® Hydrangea, also known as Brother Edward Hydrangea, is a stunning deciduous shrub that adds elegance and drama to any garden. Its large, maple-like leaves provide a bold, textured backdrop for its striking, white, cone-shaped flowers that bloom in early to mid-summer. As autumn arrives, the foliage transforms into a breathtaking display of wine-red hues.

This versatile shrub thrives in full sun to partial shade and prefers nutrient-rich, well-drained soil. It's perfect for mass plantings, hedges, and mixed shrub borders. And with its sturdy stems and long-lasting blooms, it makes an excellent choice for cut flower arrangements.

Planting Tips

To help this plant settle in and thrive, we recommend these standard planting practices: Plant in well-draining soil with a slightly acidic pH. While adaptable to various light conditions, they perform best with morning sun and afternoon shade. Water regularly until established; once mature, this variety is more drought-tolerant than other hydrangeas, though it prefers consistent moisture. Mulch around the base to retain moisture and suppress weeds. Prune sparingly and only immediately after flowering to maintain shape; avoid pruning in late winter or early spring, as this will remove the following season's flower buds.
