Epimedium grandiflorum 'Dark Beauty' is commonly known as Dark Beauty Barrenwort. This early spring perennial features velvety, deep purple new growth foliage that lightens to green as it matures. White-spurred, pinkish-lavender flowers appear in spring with a possible second flush after May.
Dark Beauty Barrenwort thrives in partial shade in organically rich, well-drained soils. Epimediums are one of the few plants capable of surviving in dry shade. Ideal as a groundcover and a good choice for the shady area of the garden.
