Zone: 5BLOOMABLES® DAPPER® BLUE BUTTERFLY BUSH
Buddleia Dapper® Blue, also commonly known as Dapper® Blue Butterfly Bush is part of the Bloomables® series of plants that are easy to grow and offer stunning blooms. Dapper® Blue is a compact and refined deciduous shrub celebrated for its dense, mounding habit and prolific display of vibrant, violet-blue flower spikes. Unlike traditional Buddleia varieties that can become overgrown in a smaller garden bed, Dapper® Blue stays neatly compact at a height and width of about 4 to 5 feet, making it an ideal candidate for small landscapes, perennial borders, or decorative patio containers. Throughout the summer and into autumn, its fragrant blooms act as a powerful magnet for pollinators, drawing in butterflies, bees, and hummingbirds with its rich nectar and sweet scent.
To care for Buddleia Dapper® Blue, plant it in a location that receives full sun (at least 6 to 8 hours daily) to ensure the sturdiest stems and the most abundant flowering. It can be drought-tolerant once established and performs best in well-draining soil with moderate watering; it is critical to avoid "wet feet," as soggy roots are the quickest way to kill this shrub.

To help this plant settle in and thrive, we recommend these standard planting practices: Plant in fertile, well-draining soil, as this genus is particularly sensitive to root rot in water-logged conditions. Select a site with full sun, as maximum light exposure is critical for strong stem development and consistent flower production. Prune in early spring to remove dead wood and stimulate vigorous new growth, which ensures the plant remains compact and floriferous. Water regularly during the first growing season until established and consider deadheading throughout the summer to encourage a secondary flush of blooms.
