The Ruby Sunset® Maple is a compact hybrid of Acer truncatum and Acer platanoides which gives this selection the best of both worlds. Its hybrid origin adds cold hardiness, adaptability and fantastic deep red fall color. The Ruby Sunset® resembles Acer truncatum in size, habit and appearance making it perfect for smaller sites. It is tolerant of urban pollution and is ideal to use in city environments.

To help this plant settle in and thrive, we recommend these standard planting practices: Plant in well-draining soil with a slightly acidic pH, and ensure the soil is rich in organic matter. Water regularly, but avoid overwatering, which can lead to root rot. Mulch around the base to retain moisture and suppress weeds, and consider adding a layer of color with annuals or perennials.
