LILY LOOKS™ TINY DINO ASIATIC LILY

Lilium asiatic 'Tiny Dino' is a compact and vigorous dwarf Asiatic lily from the Lily Looks™ series, perfect for adding a burst of fiery color to small spaces. This perennial typically grows to a height of 12 to 15 inches with a spread of 12 to 18 inches. In early to mid-summer, 'Tiny Dino' displays large, upward-facing, trumpet-shaped flowers of a vivid orange hue. The petals may feature subtle black speckles near the center, which enhance the brilliance of the main color. The blooms are set atop strong, sturdy stems that rise above glossy, dark green, strap-like foliage. Its dwarf, upright habit makes it a fantastic choice for containers, rock gardens, and the front of garden beds.

'Tiny Dino' loves in full sun to partial shade. Full sun is often preferred for the best flowering, though protecting the roots from the hottest afternoon sun is beneficial. It requires rich, well-drained soil that remains evenly moist; it is crucial to avoid conditions where the bulb will sit in standing water, as this can cause rot. Water regularly, ensuring the soil is semi-moist but never soggy. Once the flowers fade, deadhead the spent blooms, but do not cut back the stems and leaves until they have yellowed and died back naturally in the fall, as this foliage is essential for storing energy in the bulb for the next year's growth.

Asiatic Lily
Asiatic Lilies are native to several areas of Asia. They are easy to care for and the earliest to bloom in the Lily family. Asiatics are fragrance free and come in so many vibrant colors - some even have double blooms! They thrive in all types of soil as long as it is well-drained (add some sand for drainage). These lilies multiply quickly and their bulbs can double every season.

LA Hybrid Lily
L.A. Hybrid Lilies were introduce back in 1992 and are a cross between longiflorum lilies (Easter Lily) and Asiatic hybrids. They get their trumpet shape and longer vase life from the longiflorum, and their warmer flower colors and upward-facing habit from the Asiatic. They have strong, sturdy stems for cutting and are perfect in containers, beds and borders.

Oriental Lily
Oriental Lilies are native to Japan. They are late bloomers - blooming when Asiatic lilies start to fade. They grow considerably taller than Asiatics and are perfect for cut flowers due to their thick, strong stems and heavily fragrance. Yes - they are very fragrant! Their leaves are wider and grows more heart-shaped and their flowers are star-shaped. Their bulbs multiply slower than Asiatic lilies and thrive in well-drained, organic soil.
