Zone: 5KNIPHOFIA ORANGE BLAZE
Grower Notes:
Kniphofia 'Orange Blaze', a member of the PYROMANIA® Series, is robust and compact, prized for its vivid, fiery-orange flower spikes that create a dynamic vertical accent in the garden. It boasts a long bloom season, producing a plethora of dense, bright orange tubular florets from early to late summer, with a strong tendency to rebloom if deadheaded. With a mature height of about 24-30 inches and a spread of 18-24 inches, 'Orange Blaze' is an ideal size for mid-border plantings, containers, or as a vibrant focal point in smaller garden spaces. Its upright habit, long-lasting color, and ability to attract hummingbirds, bees, and butterflies make it a valuable and easy-care addition to any sunny landscape.
'Orange Blaze' Red Hot Poker thrives in full sun and very well-drained soil. Like all Kniphofia, it is highly intolerant of wet, soggy conditions, particularly during the winter months, where root and crown rot can be a major problem. Removing the spent flower spikes promptly is key to encouraging continuous reblooming throughout the summer season.
