SAWARA THREADLEAF FALSECYPRESS

Chamaecyparis pisifera 'Filifera' is commonly referred to as the Threadleaf Falsecypress or Filifera Threadleaf Falsecypress. This selection is a slow-growing evergreen conifer with textured, horizontal, somewhat pendulous, cord-like branches covered with scale-like foliage that form a broad pyramid. It has attractive reddish-brown, smooth bark that adds to its appeal.

The Filifera Threadleaf Falsecypress enjoys partial shade in moist, fertile, well-drained soils.

Planting Tips

To help this plant settle in and thrive, we recommend these standard planting practices: Plant in well-draining soil with a slightly acidic pH. Water regularly, but avoid overwatering. Provide partial shade, especially during the first growing season. Mulch around the base to retain moisture and suppress weeds. Prune in late winter or early spring to maintain shape and promote new growth.
