Zone: 4FRANS FONTAINE COLUMNAR EUROPEAN HORNBEAM
Frans Fontaine Hornbeam is a slow-growing, stately, deciduous tree that has the narrowest form of all European Hornbeams. It has serrated dark green leaves that turn a bright yellow in the fall.
This low maintenance hornbeam takes to pruning well and can be pruned into an ornamental hedge - wait until late winter to prune. It is tolerant of urban environments and is perfect as a vertical accent or as a hedge/screen. It thrives in full to part sun in moist conditions. It should not be allowed to dry out.
