MT ST HELENS® PLUM

The Mount St. Helens® Plum is a deciduous, very hardy, ornamental plum tree known for its fast growth and vibrant deep purple foliage. It has a upright, rounded form and is ideal for growing in small spaces. It is tolerant of a wide range of harsh conditions and thrives in full sun and evenly moist soils (not standing water). It is a great choice for city environments due to its tolerance of urban pollution, however, be mindful of its midsummer purple drupes for possible sidewalk plantings.

Planting Tips

To help this plant settle in and thrive, we recommend these standard planting practices: Plant in well-draining soil with a slightly acidic pH. Water regularly, but avoid overwatering. Mulch around the base to retain moisture and suppress weeds. Fertilize annually with a balanced fertilizer. Prune in late winter or early spring to maintain shape and promote healthy growth.
