TINY TORTUGA TURTLEHEAD
Chelone obliqua 'Tiny Tortuga' PP25350 is commonly referred to as Tiny Tortuga Turtlehead. This native, compact, moisture-loving, long-lived perennial derives its name (Tortuga is tortoise in Spanish) from its slow spreading habit with flowers that resemble the heads of open-mouthed turtles. It features clumps of dark green foliage with large hot pink hooded flowers in late summer. Flowers attract bees, butterflies and other beneficial pollinators. Attractive foliage is thick, glossy and dark bronze-green with a busy, mounding habit.
Tiny Tortuga Turtlehead thrives in full to part sun in organically fertile, evenly moist, well-drained soils. Low maintenance and ideal for containers, along ponds, streams, and in perennial borders.
