RED JADE CRABAPPLE

The Red Jade Crabapple is noteworthy for its weeping habit. It has a graceful habit that has become one of the most popular weeping crabapples. It features pale pink buds that open white followed by bright red fruit that linger through fall and persist into winter. Fruit is loved by birds and wildlife and harvested for jellies. Glossy, dark green, pointy leaves stay true through summer and mature to yellow in fall.

The Red Jade Crabapple enjoys rich, moist, well-drained soil in full sun. It is tolerant of urban pollution and will thrive in city environments.

Planting Tips

To help this plant settle in and thrive, we recommend these standard planting practices: Plant in well-draining soil with a slightly acidic pH. Water regularly, but avoid overwatering. Mulch around the base to retain moisture and suppress weeds. Prune in late winter or early spring to maintain shape and promote healthy growth.
