PINK FLOWERING DOGWOOD
Pink Flowering Dogwood (Cornus florida f. rubra) is an old time favorite noteworthy for its four seasons of interest. This small, deciduous tree has profuse star-like, pinkish-red flower bracts that turn to vivid orange-red fruits in summer. Its layered branch structure has green leaves through summer that turn attractive shades of scarlet and maroon in fall. It performs best in part shade in evenly moist, well-drained soil.

To help this plant settle in and thrive, we recommend these standard planting practices: Plant in well-draining acidic soil with a pH between 6.0 and 6.5. Water regularly, but avoid overwatering. Mulch around the base to retain moisture and suppress weeds. Prune in late winter or early spring to maintain shape and promote healthy growth.
