LIATRIS FLORISTAN
Grower Notes:

Liatris spicata 'Floristan' (White Gayfeather) is a vigorous and reliable series of Blazing Star cultivars, primarily sought after for their exceptionally strong, upright, and dense flower spikes. It forms a low clump of fine, grass-like foliage that gives rise to sturdy, unbranched flower stalks, reaching an impressive mature height of 30-36 inches. It features pure white flowers providing a commanding vertical element in the garden. Its columnar form is ideal for adding structural contrast in perennial borders, cottage gardens, or prairie-style plantings.

Blooming from mid to late summer, White Gayfeather features its characteristic "bottlebrush" spikes, which uniquely open their fuzzy, tufted flowers from the top of the spike downward. The blooms are a huge magnet for pollinators, attracting butterflies, bees, and hummingbirds to the garden throughout the season. It thrives in full sun and requires well-drained soil, tolerating heat, humidity, and even some drought once established. Due to their long vase life and strong stems, 'Floristan' varieties are considered top-tier selections for both fresh and dried floral arrangements.
