LORD BALTIMORE ROSE MALLOW

Hibiscus coccineus 'Lord Baltimore' PP04,721 is commonly referred to as Lord Baltimore Rose Mallow. It features large, tropical 10" diameter crimson red flowers that completely cover the plant. Bright green, maple-like leaves contrast beautifully with its flowers that bloom from mid-summer to fall. It is an improved sterile hybrid that was introduced in 1955 and is still one of the very best pure red Hibiscus hardy in zones 4-9.

Lord Baltimore is a perennial hibiscus that dies down completely in winter with new shoots emerging in May. It thrives in full sun and moist, well-drained soils. Do not let it dry out. Ideal near ponds or streams as it thrives in moist soils.
