MIDNIGHT ROSE CORAL BELLS

Heuchera 'Midnight Rose' (Coral Bells) is a stunning perennial and a sport of Heuchera 'Obsidian' celebrated for its dramatic, ever-changing foliage that adds color to the garden. It features large, nearly black or deep purple leaves that are uniquely speckled with hot, flamingo-pink spots in spring, which then mature to a creamy-white variegation as the season progresses. An excellent choice for adding striking contrast, 'Midnight Rose' maintains a tidy, mounded habit and is generally low-maintenance. It performs best in rich, humusy, well-drained soil and thrives in partial shade, though it can tolerate full sun, especially in cooler regions, provided the soil remains consistently moist.

In late spring to early summer, 'Midnight Rose' produces delicate, creamy-white flowers on tall, wiry stems that attract hummingbirds. Ideal for borders, containers, mass planting, or as an accent in a woodland garden, 'Midnight Rose' is also noted for being deer-resistant and hardy in USDA zones 4 through 9.

Planting Tips

To help this plant settle in and thrive, we recommend these standard planting practices: Plant in a location with partial shade, and well-draining soil. Water regularly, but avoid overwatering. Fertilize in the spring with a balanced fertilizer. Mulch around the base to retain moisture and suppress weeds.
