CALLICARPA DIC ISSAI
Grower Notes:

Callicarpa dichotoma 'Issai' is commonly known as the Issai Beautyberry. It is a small, rounded, deciduous shrub that reaches 2-4 feet tall. It features arching branches that dip downward. Small, lavender flowers in summer are followed by profuse clusters of shiny, purple fruit which ripen in September and persist after leaves fall. The Issai has heavier fruiting than other species and does it at an earlier age.

The Issai Beautyberry is easy to grow and enjoys full sun to part shade in average, well-drained soils. Its best fruit production is in full sun. It blooms on new wood so best to prune it in late winter to early spring to encourage compactness and flowering.
