KELSEY DWARF RED TWIG DOGWOOD

The Kelsey's Dwarf Red-Osier Dogwood is a dwarf, rounded, low-growing shrub with red stems and white flowers. It prefers full sun in moist to wet soil and is excellent for erosion control on steep slopes or along foundations. The red stems in winter bring attractive winter interest to the landscape.

Planting Tips

To help this plant settle in and thrive, we recommend these standard planting practices: Plant in full sun to partial shade; it is highly adaptable but performs best in moist to wet soils. It is the premier choice for rain gardens, bioswales, or naturally damp areas. Pruning: Like other red-stemmed dogwoods, the vibrant color fades on older wood. To keep the stems bright red, perform rejuvenation pruning (coppicing) in late winter: cut one-third of the oldest, dullest stems to the ground. This encourages new, vibrant red growth for the following winter season.
