The Isanti Red Twig Dogwood is a multi-stemmed, neat, compact shrub with blood-red stems that are very showy in winter. Dark green leaves age to red and purple in autumn. Spring brings creamy white, star-shaped flowers followed by white berries which birds love. Thrives in full or part sun in moist soils. Great for naturalizing!

To help this plant settle in and thrive, we recommend these standard planting practices: Plant in full sun to partial shade; it is highly adaptable but performs best in moist to wet soils. It is the premier choice for rain gardens, bioswales, or naturally damp areas. Pruning: Like other red-stemmed dogwoods, the vibrant color fades on older wood. To keep the stems bright red, perform rejuvenation pruning (coppicing) in late winter: cut one-third of the oldest, dullest stems to the ground. This encourages new, vibrant red growth for the following winter season.
