CORNUS CLOUDBURST
Grower Notes:
Cornus 'NCCH3' P.A.F. is more commonly known as Cloudburst™ Dogwood. This exceptional complex, triploid hybrid dogwood combines the best traits of its parent species (Asian Kousa and Cornus florida) to create a showy and highly reliable flowering dogwood for modern landscapes. This unique genetic makeup gives it a powerful combination of traits, including the classic look of a native dogwood with the hardiness and disease resistance of the kousa.
The most striking feature of Cornus Cloudburst™ is its immense floral display. It produces very large, pure white, star-shaped 'flowers' (bracts). The bracts are notably larger than those of a standard Cornus florida and appear just after the leaves have emerged, creating a wonderful contrast of white against fresh green foliage. In fall, foliage transforms into a stunning palette of yellow, orange, and fiery red hues.
Cloudburst™ Dogwood thrives in full sun in nutrient-rich, evenly moist, well-drained soil. It has inherited a high resistance to common dogwood diseases such as dogwood anthracnose and powdery mildew. This means less maintenance and a healthier, more beautiful tree for years to come, without the worry of major health problems.
