To help this plant settle in and thrive, we recommend these standard planting practices: Plant in full sun. Note: Full sun is critical for this cultivar - if planted in too much shade, the chartreuse foliage will fade to a dull green. It adapts well to most soil types, including clay, and tolerates moist conditions. Pruning: To maintain vibrant foliage and bright winter stem color, perform rejuvenation pruning (coppicing) in late winter: cut one-third to one-half of the oldest stems to the ground. This encourages a fresh flush of glowing, chartreuse new growth and intense red winter stems.
