Weigela florida 'SMNWFDFPD' is more commonly known as Very Fine Wine® Weigela. This dense, multi-stemmed, deciduous shrub has a compact, mounding habit and features burgundy foliage with hints of deep purple. Rose-red trumpet-shaped flowers with pink overtones along the branches appear in late spring from red flower buds. It attracts hummingbirds, butterflies and other beneficial pollinators to the garden.
Very Fine Wine® Weigela thrives in full sun in average, evenly moist, well-drained soils. It is tolerant of urban environments and can be drought tolerant once established.
Ideal for hedges, mass plantings and containers.
