SORBET TIGER EYE VIOLA

Viola 'Tiger Eye' is one of the most visually arresting varieties available, instantly recognizable by its dramatic and intricate markings. The petals feature a warm, golden-yellow base heavily etched with fine, radiating black veins that resemble a tiger's stripes or a hand-painted sunburst. At the center, a dark, velvety blotch adds depth, making each small bloom appear remarkably intense. 'Tiger Eye' is particularly prized for its ability to draw the eye in mixed containers or along the front of a garden bed, where its unique, high-contrast pattern can be appreciated in detail.

To keep Viola 'Tiger Eye' performing at its peak, it should be planted in a location that receives full sun to partial shade. It is known for being exceptionally floriferous, but it requires fertile, well-drained soil to support its heavy bloom cycle. Consistent moisture is crucial, especially as the season warms up, as dry soil can cause the intricate veining to look less distinct. Applying a balanced fertilizer every few weeks will help maintain the vibrancy of the gold and black contrast. Like other violas, regular deadheading is recommended to keep the plant from focusing on seed production, ensuring a steady display of its exotic, striped flowers.
