ORANGE JOHNNY JUMP UP

Viola 'Orange' is a vibrant annual prized for its intense, saturated color that stands out even from a distance. These blooms typically feature a warm, pumpkin-orange hue, often complemented by a small yellow center or subtle dark whiskers near the throat. They are particularly effective in autumn displays or as a high-energy contrast to blue and purple spring flowers. Because of their compact growth habit, they create a solid mat of color that remains tidy in garden beds, preventing the "gappy" look that some larger bedding plants can develop.

To keep these orange violas looking their best, they should be placed in well-drained soil in a location that receives full sun to partial shade. Like most violas, they are happiest when the soil stays consistently moist - a layer of mulch can help maintain this moisture and keep the root systems cool. In regions with fluctuating spring temperatures, these plants are remarkably hardy, often bouncing back after a cold snap. For the longest blooming period, pinch off the faded flowers regularly to ensure the plant continues to produce its bold, citrus-colored petals throughout the season.
