WHITE MYRTLE
Vinca White, a classic selection of the annual Catharanthus roseus, is a garden staple valued for its clean, refreshing appearance and exceptional durability. This annual variety produces an abundance of five-petaled, pure white flowers that often feature a small, contrasting lemon-yellow or soft pink eye at the very center. The foliage is a deep, glossy green with a smooth texture, providing a crisp and professional-looking backdrop that makes the white blooms stand out vividly. It is a favorite for mass plantings because it creates a bright, uniform carpet of color that remains attractive even during the most oppressive humidity of mid-summer.
For the best performance, Vinca White annual should be situated in a spot that receives full sun for at least six to eight hours a day. It is highly resistant to heat and can handle the reflected light from sidewalks or stone walls without wilting. The soil must be well-drained, as this plant is particularly sensitive to over-watering and heavy, saturated ground. An ideal location would be a raised garden bed, a sunny border, or a decorative container where drainage is guaranteed. Once the root system is established in the warm soil of late spring, it requires very little supplemental water and will continue to produce a steady stream of white blossoms until the arrival of the first frost.
