MARIESII DOUBLEFILE VIBURNUM

Viburnum plicatum tomentosum 'Mariesii' is commonly referred to as Doublefile Viburnum or Wedding Cake Shrub. It is a broadly rounded, horizontal, tiered, layered branching, deciduous shrub with large creamy white flowers cluster in spring followed by red fruit in fall.

Mariesii Doublefile Viburnum thrives in full to partial sun in rich, fertile, evenly moist, well-drained soils. It is absolutely perfect as a specimen plant - its beautiful, white layered wedding cake look with its tiered, layered, horizontal branching of white flower clusters is a showstopper!

Planting Tips

To help this plant settle in and thrive, we recommend these standard planting practices: Plant in well-draining soil with full sun to partial shade. Water regularly but avoid overwatering. Mulch around the base to retain moisture and suppress weeds. Prune sparingly and only immediately after flowering to maintain shape; avoid pruning in late winter or early spring, as this will remove the flower buds that form for next year's blooms.
