MOHICAN VIBURNUM

Viburnum lantana 'Mohican' is commonly referred to as Wayfaring Bush or Mohican Viburnum. It is a compact, very dense, adaptable grower and noteworthy for growing well in difficult areas. It features small, flat-topped clusters of creamy white flowers in spring followed by clusters of abundant fruit that emerges pink, changes to bright orange-red midsummer, and matures to black in fall. Dark green foliage with grey undersides turns showy deep purple in fall.

Mohican Viburnum is low maintenance and dependable. It is a great choice to attract pollinators and wildlife, and thrives in full to partial sun in average, evenly moist, well-drained soils. It is tolerant of urban pollution and can thrive in city environments. This tough, durable, beautiful Viburnum is ideal for mass plantings, hedges, screens and general landscape use.

Planting Tips

To help this plant settle in and thrive, we recommend these standard planting practices: Plant in well-draining soil with full sun to partial shade. Water regularly but avoid overwatering. Mulch around the base to retain moisture and suppress weeds. Prune sparingly and only immediately after flowering to maintain shape; avoid pruning in late winter or early spring, as this will remove the flower buds for the coming season.
